With winter in full swing, saving money on heating your home is important. Here are some of the easiest ways you can save money on heating costs in the winter.

1. Regularly Check Air Filters

Dirty air filters are one of the most common causes of low efficiency in heating units. Change your air filters at least twice a year (more if you have pets) to maintain optimal performance.

2. Clear Blocked Registers

Make sure all registers, which circulate air back into the system for heating, are free from obstructions, including furniture.

3. Change Your Thermometer Settings

Switch your thermometer setting from Auto to On, to reduce frequent power cycling.

4. Close Vents in Unused Rooms

Redirect the flow of warm air to rooms that need it the most by closing the vents in unoccupied rooms.
