HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary for Service Tech:

As a HVAC Technician for Best 1 Plumbing & Heating, you will be the face of the company while going on service calls to customers and corporate clients. Professionally and safely installing and servicing HVAC and refrigeration systems, a technician will travel to job sites and resolve calls in a variety of conditions and environments.

The ideal candidate will have general HVAC/refrigeration installation, customer service, and maintenance experience. We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, team player who is ready to expand their career within a small yet growing company that cares about its employees.

Duties & Responsibilities

Go on customer/client service calls to install and maintain HVAC/refrigeration systems.
Work in a team environment, responding to scheduling via our Jobber application.
Input all necessary customer service and sales information.
Work with customers to determine the best solution(s) for their needs during onsite visits.
Cleaning and organization of equipment and service vehicles.
Uphold safety policies, requirements, and equipment.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Use the Jobber application in accordance with the Jobber manual. All employees must enter all data and use the application to its fullest degree.

Qualifications, Required Skills & Abilities

Preferred: 1 or 2 year certificate diploma or associates degree at an accredited HVAC institution.
Preferred: 1-3+ years of commercial experience as a HVAC and Refrigeration Technician.
Preferred: Active EPA Certification.
Required: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Required: Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Required: Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills.
Required: Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Required: Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs., climb and balance on a ladder, and work in elevated/high locations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Clean the customer job site upon completion of work.
Effectively communicate both the diagnosis and solution with the customer. Provide multiple options for repair depending on the needs and preferences of the customer/job.
Work in a team environment, responding to scheduling via our Jobber application.
Input all necessary customer service, sales information, and relevant job paperwork.
Cleaning and organization of equipment and service vehicles.

Qualifications, Required Skills & Abilities

Required: High school diploma or GED.
Required for Journeyman: Must have taken and passed the Journeyman plumbing exam and possess Journeyman Plumber credentials.
Required for Apprentice: must be enrolled in a plumbing apprenticeship program recognized by the Wisconsin Bureau of Apprenticeship standards.
Required: 1-3+ years of commercial and residential plumbing experience.
Required: Apprentice/Journeyman Wisconsin license.
Required: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Must have 1 or several of the following licenses depending on the role:
- Apprentice: Plumbing Apprentice, Learner Restricted Appliance, Learner Restricted Service
- Journeyman: Plumber, Restricted Appliance, Restricted Service
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs., climb and balance on a ladder, and work in elevated/high locations.

Apprentice or Journeyman Plumber

Job Summary for Service Tech:

As an Apprentice or Journeyman Plumber for Best 1 Plumbing & Heating, you will be the face of the company while going on service calls to customers and corporate clients. Professionally and safely installing and servicing plumbing equipment and systems, a technician will travel to job sites and resolve calls in a variety of conditions and environments. This role may also assist/report to Master or Lead plumbers.

Coordinate, troubleshoot, repair, inspect and replace plumbing equipment including, but not limited to, water piping, faucets, lavatories, toilets, flush valves, sinks, water heaters, drain cleaning, water/sewer repairs, drinking fountains, domestic water heaters and boilers, garbage disposals, backflow devices, valves, and water meters. Additionally, this position will also perform roles with new construction and or remodeling, completing rough-ins, new plumbing, etc.
